"You must circumcise every male. You shall be circumcised
through the flesh of your foreskin. This shall be the mark of the covenant
between Me and you. Throughout all generations, every male shall be circumcised
when he is eight days old." Bar Mitzvah (Bat Mitzvah for Girls) At the age of 13 (12 for girls), children become obligated to observe the commandments of the Torah. "A man shall therefore leave his father and mother
and be united with his wife, and they shall become one flesh." "Be fruitful and multiply." "When a man marries a woman or possesses her, if
she is displeasing to him [or] if he has evidence of sexual misconduct
on her part, he shall write her a bill of divorce and place it in her
hand, thus releasing her from his household. When she thus leaves his
household, she may go and marry another man." Judaism requires prompt burial. Shiva begins on the day of burial and continues until the morning of the seventh day after burial. Shloshim lasts until the 30th day after burial. Avelut is observed only for a parent and lasts for twelve months after the burial. For eleven months of that period, starting at the time of burial, the son of the deceased recites the mourner's Kaddish every day.
